What the rows know.

Hair holds the history, the memory, the moments.
It holds every emotion, thought, bad or good idea.
Every single strand has it's own recalling of the love you did or did not provide it.
It remembers being tugged, tamed, moisturized, and matted.
It appreciates the time you take to get it so laid, so perfectly parted
and has a love for the person who you allow to mold it.
The hands that you entrust with those moments
are the same hands that remind us to trust in each-other.
Corn rows are not just a protective style, they are our protection.
They will remain the braids bonding us together, the coils encasing our roots.
Only the rows know where we've been and only the rows know where we will go.
